I hope by now you have had time to look at the information on our website about the 34th ACGA Gift Planning Conference next April 20-22 in our new Monday-Wednesday format. We will be meeting at the beautiful Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center which is a perfect space for a conference with terrific break-out rooms, ballrooms for our plenary sessions, and a fabulous exhibit hall space all surrounded by a hotel that has all the amenities you can want.
Nearby are restaurants, shopping, and fun for when your Conference day is over. For those who enjoy baseball, it’s close to the new SunTrust Park, home field for the Atlanta Braves. The Braves have home games scheduled during the conference, but even if you can’t get tickets for the open night after the conference, the Battery at SunTrust Park is worth a visit even when there’s not a game. In fact, come a few days early or stay a few days late and enjoy all the fun that Atlanta has to offer.
Our Conference is a great opportunity to hear from thought leaders in our field, learn some new techniques, and be inspired with new ideas to put to work in your organization. Chaired by ACGA Board members, Cam Kelly of Duke University and Joe Bull of Carnegie Mellon University, our Conference Committee has been hard at work putting together sessions that cover a multitude of topics in the gift planning world. Of course, we will have sessions on charitable gift annuities, but the ACGA Gift Planning Conference has always covered a broad range of topics with sessions suitable for newcomers and veterans alike.
Don’t miss the Early Bird registration discount and the opportunity to be in the room to hear the latest critical information in our field. And if you know of anyone who might benefit from the Conference, but needs a scholarship to join us, please direct them to the Terry L. Simmons Scholarship application on our website and encourage them to apply.
Of course, there’s lots more in this issue of our newsletter and the continuing work of the ACGA Strategic Plan is ongoing. Read through this issue and let us know your feedback so that we can continue to bring you quality content.
As always, we are very grateful for the trust you place in us by becoming ACGA members. You can keep updated on all ACGA matters through our website and newsletter. We’re excited about the future as we implement our strategic plan, conduct new research including partnering on research with the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners, and continue our critical work on monitoring rates and state regulations. Your partnership in this work is vital to our success. We wish you a wonderful fall and look forward to hearing from you!
